My wife and I will be joining you with bean burgers tonight. We are using Jeff Novicks southwest style burgers.
Enjoy!

Boots, that looks so delicious!

It used to be the same with me, I hated dark leafy greens. This was back when I was a teenager. However, I heard how healthy they were for you, and I didn't want to miss out on these benefits. So, I kept cooking with them until I found a recipe I liked.

And now, well, you know...

<---eats raw greens that she's just cleaned and goes "mmmmmmm"

As for doing something a little different once in a while, tonight, I'm cooking me some Indian food! :D

Hey Ya'll :D

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. I just got through making black beans, rice, with ripe tomatoes, avocados smashed together with corn on the cob. I'm off to relax--ttyl

Boots, I forgot to answer your tomato question. I've read the difference between Iowa tomatoes and other places is the soil and the rain. It shapes the flavor. When I lived in San Diego I bought tomatoes from the Farmer's Market (and sweet corn) and it all tasted like crap to me. I never thought I'd move back to Iowa but I'm happy to be back with the produce. If I moved back to San Diego I'd have to have runners bringing the stuff to me. My mom lives in San Diego and she hates the produce too. I guess Iowa needs something going for it or no one would live here.

Hey Ya'll :)

I'm doing good today. I quit listening to my stretch receptors over the weekend and I need to start paying attention again. Eatin more starch--it happens. It's a cycle.

Meal 1 (A+): cucumbers, steamed greens, sweet potatoes
Snack (A+): mangoes
Meal 2 (A+): beans, rice, potatoes, tomatoes, onions all mixed together with herbs
Snack (A+): mangoes
Exercise (A+) 55 minutes

Night ya'll

Hey Ya'll :D

Thanks for stopping by. I enjoy each and everyone one of you. I'm doing good. A bit tired but it is what it is. My eating was okay for the most part. I'm not listening to my receptors and am overeating but I'm aware of it.

Meal 1 (A+) : sweet potatoes mixed with brown rice and hummus. I added tomatoes and avocado to it. It tasted really good
Snack (A+): mangoes and watermelon
Snack (C-): Maple muffins from happy herbivore cookbook. These really should be called maple pumpkin muffins because the recipe calls for 1 cup of pumpkin!! It is oil free and Mcdougall. 102 calories, 3 grams, 23 carbs, 2.6 grams fiber, 10.0 grams sugar, 1.8 grams protein. Not a bad snack but not something to have every day while I'm trying to do MWL LOL
Meal 2 (A+): Same as Meal 1
Snack (A+): banana ice-cream
Exercise (A+): 55 minutes walking

Night ya'll :)

Hey Boots, just trying to catch up a bit on your journal. Looks like you are still doing great. It's hard to believe you've been posting regularly for 3 years!

Ha, sometimes I don't like to remember that I have been here so long. It has a been a journey that is for sure and a continuous one at that :)

Hey ya'll :D . I had a good weekend. I had too many regular plan Mcdougall treats though. Bread, cereal, orange juice. They are all good in moderation but I don't have very good moderation skills when consuming the above items, lol.

I was ready to move on today

Meal 1: starch casserole, steamed chard, cherries
Meal 2: finished meal 1
Snack: cherries
Meal 3: red bell pepper raw--love them, steamed broccoli, starch casserole
Beverage: Water Only
Exercise: None

Hope everyone had a good day
