Funcrunch,

Good job on your race results. All of that mileage you are doing is paying off.

I took a rest day yesterday after running 8 miles on Saturday and 9 miles on Sunday.

It's going to be 95 degrees this afternoon. But I am still going to try to run 4 miles, among water breaks.

Thanks Spiral!

Today I ran about nine miles, farthest I've run since February. And unlike then, I didn't need walking breaks. (But was still tired and somewhat sore afterward.) Also did my usual stretches and crunches.

I've been biking or swimming every day. I still haven't managed to get started on some weight lifting and a stretching regime, but satisfied that I've maintained the bike/swim routine. Mostly swimming, because it's hot (compared to what we're used to, nothing like the 100 degrees plus that a lot of you are getting).

The heat has persuaded me to change my workout schedule.
Yesterday I did a 5 mile run in the morning, before work.

I just purchased a light that I can strap to my forehead to illuminate my running path when it's dark.

Today is a rest day. Tomorrow morning I plan to run 10 miles.

I was finally able to get back to the gym. I walked vigorously for 1/2 hour on the treadmill, did some planks and stretching. I was going to do interval training but the key pad on the treadmill wasn't working. Tomorrow I plan to head back and do my squat workout.

I had a busy July at work, so haven't checked in. I have been moving, most days. We've had some storms in the evening, so that took away a couple evenings, and I refuse to go out if it is over 95 or the air quality is red. So that cut out some days out.

Good for everyone on continuing, and Funcrunch on your progress.

yesterday July 25th was beautiful so I had a good long walk with steep hills. That took 60 minutes.

Today it is way over 100 - so I had yoga for 40 minutes.

Finally got back to moving today with a one hour trail run after three days of recovery from a disastrous 8 hour mountain bike race. My whole GI tract shut down six hours in and I wallowed around for an hour unable to eat or drink anything, even plain water. I started to recover, but too late. I missed the cut-off time for a possible qualifying slot to Leadville by 22 minutes. :-( Somehow though I'm still quite happy with how I handled things. Full race report on the blog as soon as I figure out happened.

Geez been terrible about checking in here. Since I've been talking to other McDougall'ers on Facebook. Been doing bike riding, rebounder, hand weights, been pondering doing yoga and or zumba classes.

Do a combo or try both zumba and yoga. I love both of them.
