Faith, I always seem to give up on my hovers at 45seconds! I dont know why, I'm sure I could hold on 15 seconds, ofcourse it seems easy sitting in my office chair, lol. But then I go down to my knees and hold the rest of the 15sec there.

yeah yesterday was the first time i could muster out the extra five seconds. it does seem like an eternity.

Thanks for the idea of going to the knees. Usually I drop flat and say ugh this is hard.

Ok so to be honest I skipped 3 days in a row!! I felt guilty so I started up again this morning before work.. When should I measure again since I keep forgetting to do it for a couple days?? Its technically been more than 10days when I first started but not 10 days in a row.. hhmmm..

I usually take one day off since my muscles seem to need it. I always notice I make more improvement the next day. With lowering to my knees I was finally able to do the whole week one (with some combination from week two) 100%. I am happy.

I'm measuring today for fun after work! I'm excited although I do feel bloated this morning but thats ok. I'm also going to start week3. I haven't been doing all of week 2 kind of mixing it up between the first two weeks, excited to try something new along with my regular work out! Hows everything going with you Faith?

boy this is a work in progress. I'm glad I didn't go with the group before. I see I need extra time. Unfortunately I missed Sat. and Sun. I did work out the abs though on Saturday with gardening.

I can now complete the required times, but this week my goal is doing a real hover for the whole minute. Then I'll proceed to week 3. I don't care if I'm moving slow, the main thing is to move.

How did your measurement come out?? I forgot about a pair of shorts that button at the waist. Well, the waist has thicken since menopause. The shorts I could button but were uncomfortable. But saturday they buttoned and were so comfortable that is what I wore to garden in. :D

Goodmorning, so I did the test again last night and my measuring results weren't too different but I'm still excited at my progress

Hover test: 1 minute
Back extension: 1 minute
2 inches Above: 30 inches
Belly Button: 34 1/2 inches
2 inches Below: 36 3/4 inches

And I fit into jeans this morning that I haven't fit in 3 years! The legs were still more tight than comfortable but I felt soo good in them!!!

Bambie - I'd say that is real progress. It's fun seeing the baby steps isn't. I was showing the family the hoover last night and telling them how I finally can do it for a minute. Now I'm trying to get the toe taps and heel taps in.

BTW Bambie. Guess what else we have in common. My birthday is August 26th also. I'm sure I'm older though.

OMG! Thats soo weird! The only two people who decided to do this again and we have the same birthday! lol, yeah I'm turning 22 this year. How about you? Most people on this site are older than me; I think I'm one of few fortunate to find this early on in life, so far!
Thats great, you can do it for 1min also! I hate the toe taps! lol, they make it soo much harder! I was doing the challange in the locker room so no one would see me but yesterday I did it in the gym and there were 3 guys doing ab workouts close by and I think thats what motivated me to doing everything longer!! I'm a big competitor and didn't want to look weak! lol, I think I'll keep doing them in the gym now.

Sheesh, as usual, I'm a dollar short and a day late. Just noticed this thread and would like to join in but I'll be waaaay behind ya'll. If you don't mind, though, I will start Monday. Like Faith, I may need to take it slow as my core strength is really bad.

My self-defense class often starts with a core workout after some warm-up aerobics so I guess I'm not totally at square 1. I've also been trying to tighten up when biking as it helps take some of the pressure off the hands.

See you next week!

Come on Chile, I've even slowed up a bit more trying to actually accomplish one level before moving to the next. Or atleast getting near accomplishing it. One thing I love about these exercises, they are different, and they don't bother my neck. I have degenitive bone break down pretty bad there, and the car accident a couple years only made it much much worse. So keeping aligned is the only way I'm comfortable somewhat. These exercises do it. So you'll probably move ahead of me.

Bambi - way to go on showing the fellas. It might spark some conversation.

I'm turning 51 this year. hehe last year was a rough one. It just made me more determined to get strong.

Monday Morning, running off of 3hrs of sleep. lol, no wonder for the grumble
I feel disapointed with myself and am having a hard time getting motivated again.. This keeps happening the last couple weekends. I had gotten down to 129lbs and my stomach started looking like I had abs and then..idk. I now am back up to 132lbs and my stomach looks fatty and doesn't feel strong and fit. I feel really weighed down, I haven't done the core challenge since Thursday and my diet was sadder than SAD over the weekend..so I guess I'll be restarting week3 all over again today.
Sorry for the little self pity, I know I do it to myself. I need to get all this junk out of my viens and get motivated!

don't feel bad Bambie sometimes life gets in the way. I keep trying to tell myself, it's only 10-15 minutes. Well Thursday and Friday was modified, and then I got so involved around the house on Saturday and Sunday (was having problems so fixing things) that I wasn't even getting a chance to sit, so totally skipped out.

Well, both start week 3 again. Hope Chile catches up with us.

Bambi, go to the website, vibrant vegan and to the core challenge. Watch Day 7. I think it was meant for us. Nice reminder and butt kick but very tactful. Thanks Derrick.

I started yesterday, Faith, so I don't think there's any way that I'll catch up with you! I copied everything from the website and then modified it to stretch it out to 6 weeks instead of doing it over 30 days. My core muscles are pretty darn weak so it's going to be quite the challenge. I could barely do the side planks ("hover" as he calls them) and that's often where my challenge is in the self-defense classes I take twice a week.

Haven't done the workout yet today but hope to later. Just did a big bike ride (22 miles round-trip) with the self-defense class in the middle of it. I need to let my muscles rest a few hours before brutalizing them again today!
