I just needed some help with figuring out what I can eat. I am celiac and hypothyroid and the list of foods that I should avoid seems longer than the ones I can actually eat.

Plus, I try to avoid grains and legumes because of the phytate/ mineral loss problem.

Am I wrong about legumes and gluten-free grains and mineral loss? I just feel like I won't have any choices when it comes to my diet plan.

Thank you for any help provided.

Even if you should not eat legumes and grains -- I don't know about that, for you -- there are many whole foods you can still eat.

For a particular and unusual medical condition, I eat no grains or legumes. In fact, I avoid all high sulphur foods -- but I still have many foods to choose from: http://anti-itisdiet.blogspot.com/2010/ ... i-eat.html

P. S. -- I don't know anything about the mineral loss problem. I do know that blood tests have shown that I am getting all the nutrients I need.

Go to the home page and look for Dr. McDougall's "free program". He'll tell you what you can eat! Just leave out wheat, rye, barley, and non-gf oats. If you find you experience problems with a particular food, leave it out too. Good luck!
