Chia Seed....

Any information on benefits of Chia Seeds? I've been having 13 almonds a day to get benefits from "Good fats" of almonds. Now a big "buzz about Chia Seeds. Found nutritional informatiion on Chia Seeds.....i'be added 1 Tblspoon to my steel cuts when cooking and it gives a good crunch. Would Dr. Mcdougall approve given the amount of fat per serving?
I lost 30 Lbs. on the McDougall Program....but have put a couple of lbs back on and would like to lose the couple of lbs. So thinkin that the Chia Seeds could replace the Almonds in benefits???

Open to comment...

I think we have a few people using chia instead of flax seed. I think it would be a fine substitute for the almonds. Lot's of flexibility with this diet.

I like to mix chia seeds with vanilla rice or almond milk. After about 30 minutes, the chia will have caused the milk to gel into a tapioca like pudding.

Be very careful if you suffer from low blood pressure. Chia seeds made my BP drop so low that I collapsed and ended up in hospital.

I don't know how these older posts got here, but I'm kind of shocked about the chia seed affect on low blood pressure. Since I have about 110 over 60 I'll have to keep an eye out for that!

I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with chia's especially with this site:

I found the crunch chia's add in the raw energy bar just amazing. And I love the feeling of the seeds in my stomach. lol
