I look forward to the newsletter. There is a lot of useful and valuable information in there. The colonoscopy information was especially interesting as a friend of ours was pressured into having one last year. She is in her seventies and had been having stomach pain. She felt strongly that she should not have the procedure but her doctor insisted and said that he wouldn't help her unless she had one. She experienced a terrible sharp pain while she was having the colonoscopy. The doctor performing it sent her home right away, even though she was having pain. After she arrived home the pain grew worse. She started screaming and dropped to the floor. A neighbor in the senior complex where she lives called, 911. An ambulance took her immediately to the hospital. Her colon had been ruptured, probably during the procedure, and they had to operate. She went into a coma for days. A few friends visited her & didn't think she would make it. We thanked God, when we heard what happened, that our friend did recover from it, and is now doing well.
I'm sure that colonscopy has helped some people but it's good to know there may be safer alternative procedures in some cases and that diet and exercise as a preventative measure can spare people much pain and suffering.
From,
Laurie
