Hi everyone!

I am new to this site and thought that I should introduce myself.
I am a 41 yr old, mother of 2 who works full time.

I have recently lost 20lbs. through diet and exercise but found myself tired of counting calories and measuring out small portions. I was thinking of a raw diet but then remembered about a book I bought a long time ago. That book was Mcdougal's Maximim weight loss. I found this site and have decided to give the diet another go. I didn't stick to it years ago when I bought the book but now after 2 months of calorie counting I am ready to give this another try. I still need to lose at least 30lbs. I want my diet to be simple and not time consuming.

I am inspired by what I have found here. I am a little nervous about giving up dairy-what will my mother say?! As I look through this site I am learning a lot though.

his site is great and very informative.

I think you'd find his diet easier to stick with for a long period of time, it's also more satisifying. You can always do a raw meal while mcdougalling, but he wants you to be comfortable.

I think the easiest way to do MWL is keep it simple. Cook up some brown rice, bake some taters and have fresh or frozen veggies ready. I keep simple no oil added marinaras, salsas, beans on the shelf.

Planning ahead is always the keep to keeping on track, but I'm sure you've figured that out already.

Hope you are thinking on staying on it for your health once the weight is off. He has a loser plan (still no dairy) too.

Thanks Faith!

You're right. I also need to think of the big picture-my health and a plan that I can stick with for life. I am healthy now and I want to keep it that way. I want to make permanent lifestyle changes, not just temporary ones. I never want to have to lose this weight again!
