I tried this WOE a while back, but wasn't successful because it was just the wrong time to make the change. My family and I had moved from the city to the country, and there was a lot of work to do, as well as adjusting to the new lifestyle. It's been a wonderful change, though. We're in a quiet area, surrounded by woods. Deer wander through the yard daily. After years in L.A., it's like being in paradise.
Anyway, I have my first ever garden growing, and yesterday a bean sprout made it's appearance. How exciting! We have 2 growing seasons here, so for now I have beans, carrots, tomatoes, jalapenos & chilis, zucchini, and watermelon planted. Oh, and some herbs.
Several months ago, my doctor prescribed an antidepressant that ended up causing weight gain. I was already about 20 lbs. overweight, and the med added another 10. At that time, I realized I had to take control of my own health. I went off the med, and now take a vitamin supplement instead.
I ordered The Starch Solution, which is on its way from Amazon, but am using the guidelines from the main site for now. Yesterday was my first day. Throughout the day I had sweet potatoes, rice & vegetables, salad, roasted potatoes (made with onion soup mix), and blueberries. I didn't use any oil in cooking and never missed it. At the end of the day, my main feeling was relief. This was because I didn't have the negative feelings associated with my previous eating habits. Whenever I'd eat a burger, cheese, or chips, I'd feel like I was hurting myself (and I was, of course). I don't want to do that any more.
Sorry for the long post! Thanks for being here,
