Actually, Princess, there is an unlimited number of ways you can eat according to Dr. McDougall's guidance. Some cook tasty meals. Some of us just keep it simple. I follow the MWL program and keep it very simple:

Breakfast: steamed greens, brown rice
Lunch: steamed sweet potatoes or steamed potatoes with tomato sauce
Dinner: steamed mixed veggies, brown rice

If that is too simple for you, you can jazz it up to suit yourself. Just keep in mind that the meals are composed of veggies and starches. Some also like to eat some fruit, beans and/or a few nuts.

You can read my story here:

Let us know if you decide to McDougall with us! :-D

I eat several types of greens that you may not be able to find there and I also do not know the English names of some of them. Leafy greens are nutrient dense. Maybe you can try several and decide which you like best. :!:

Consider: bok choy, cabbage, collard greens, kale, spinach, sweet potato greens, turnip greens

MWL = Maximum Weight Loss
(McDougall program to excelerate weight loss by limiting certain foods that are allowed on the regular program)

This way of eating is simple. Fat and meat make people sick. Don't eat them. (That also includes all dairy and eggs, olive oil, butter, etc.)

What's left to eat? All plants (fruit or vegies) to be enjoyed, but never with added fat or oil. There are some plants w/natural fats --nuts, avocado, coconut, soy...use discretion and eat in moderation or totally omit.

Here is my favorite list of what to eat every day:
greens, berries; whole grains (especially oats); beans;
flax seed (whole and ground); cinnamon, garlic, onion,
a variety of other vegetables (especially potatoes) and fruit
If eating pasta, make sure it's a whole grain (and w/o eggs)
To substitute for milk, use non-dairy milks such as rice, soy, hemp, almond "milks."

Simplicity is good. Eat until you're full and then wait until you're hungry again before eating again. You'll lose weight and disease while never being deprived or starving like on regular diets.
Also, walk 15 minutes one way and then walk home again.

Good luck and welcome :) !
