Hi, Chef AJ. :) I am pretty new to the boards and was really unhappy to see some of the comments about your weightloss/ body size in the Lounge thread :( I think you look great! I am happy to see this thread hasn't turned into a similar train wreck :) I plan to continue not eating nuts after reading about your experience and I'll probably buy your book soon, too.

To keep this thread alive since it is so helpful I will post this....
Like our beloved Chef AJ I have cut out all nuts, seeds, alvocados and durian soi meats. The extra weigh is slowly coming off.
I used to come home after a long bike ride and eat handfuls of walnuts, almonds and such. As a child growing up in California my father and I would cut a avocado in half and eat if over the sink after yard work. I was doing the same as a adult. Durain is on every corner for sale here in Asia (where I am retired) and would buy it a few times a week and eat it along with coconut juice. (a lovely combo) I'd eat lots of soi hotdogs and fake meats... I was 50 lbs over weight and a VEGAN!!! 50lbs !!!!! Cutting all the fat out works I am living prove.....30lbs to go.:)))
On group bikes rides I would eat vegan style to show by example. Now I am getting close to show my body by example too.:)))

This is wonderful! So many people are writing me and telling me similar results. That their weight has been stalled for months or years and by cutting out the nuts snd seeds the pounds melted off. Of course Dr. McDougall has been saying this for years. Some people have asked to remain anonymous because they are afraid of of going against their guru, but isn't it worth just tying this for a few weeks to see if it works for you? Vegsource did a great article recently about the truth behind the nut studies (funded by the nut industry). Nuts only help with weight loss if you eat less calories. But so does kale! I will eat a nut based dressing once a week now and a tablespoon of chia in my oatmeal, but I no longer eat them by themselves or as a snack. That's what pea pods are for! :). My BMI and percentage of body fat is normal now but I would like to lose another 5 pounds, if possible, so I can be a "skinny bitch" instead of just a bitch! Congratuations!!!

Thank you! I used to perform stand up. Was on The Tonight Show several times but m not lowed to post the videos. I teach using humor because they say people remember better that way!
