Michelle, I am sorry but I have to write. I have been reading about your tooth & your salt water. There is absolutely no reason for you to be rinsing with salt water unless a-you had an extraction or b- you have some kind of inflamation in the gum tissue around the tooth. Which sometimes can happen when a temporary is placed, it might be a bit of temp. cement that was left, something like that. The salt water will be soothing for the above problems but it does nothing for a toothache. Although if it is sensitive to cold, sometimes bathing it in warm water will stop the pain. That is usually indicative of a nerve dying. If you are still having a toothache after over a week, there is something else going on. Either your dentist prepped the tooth & got too close to the nerve or your tooth is dying, maybe the dentist let the tooth get too hot during the preparation, who knows. But in that case, you need a root canal or you may have a fracture in the tooth, which means an extraction most likely, if it is a vertical fracture.
Your dentist said if the tooth does not stop hurting, he will not cement the crown. But he needs to cement it temporarily, because it is custom made so you would not have the problem of some exposed root surface. If it stops hurting after he puts it on temp., then it probably will be okay. Most dds will wait about 4-6 wks, if no pain on it goes permanently.
As far as the salt water causing water retention, you should not be swallowing it, & it is 1t. in a full glass of warm water. No more than 4 times a day. Perhaps it is the pain that is causing the problem. That needs to be taken care of.
Hope your tooth improves.

I am going to post tonight cause I'm hitting the gym super early tomorrow. I am up .2 for the week. But considering where I was mid week I'm very happy. I wrote a little in my journal about throwing out my back and having to take prednisone. I didn't expect to become so thirsty and not urinate more nor have my BMs kind of stop. I only took 2 doses of it thankfully. I was up almost 3 lbs by mid week, so I'm trilled with my tiny gain. I am also thrilled my back pain is almost gone too.

*edit:
Didn't go to the gym cause my husband got home after 1130, so waking at 4am wasn't gonna happen. I can't sleep when he's not home.

So I weighed this morning and am down 1.2 lbs!!! :D :D So happy.

Great job to everyone. Michelle I hope your tooth gets better soon!

I am up 1.4 lbs.

I had a very, very stressful week and I knew I was eating more than usual, including some homemade baked goods (scones from the Happy Herbivore cookbook). However I am very pleased that I only didn't stray completely off plan; I just ate some things that are OK for the regular plan but not for MWL. Six months ago, this much stress would have had me reaching for (vegan) chocolate many times a day. I'm glad I have really gotten over that habit.

I am down 0.1 lbs.

I need to find something better to eat for breakfast. At the moment I am eating (whole grain) toast which isn't filling enough and is not MWL and may be slowing my weight loss. I don't like cereals. Any suggestions out there?

Think outside the breakfast box. I sometimes eat salad for breakfast, or soup or steamed veggies.

When you say you don't like cereal does that include hot cereal? Steel cut oats cooked in apple juice with cinnamon and fruit is awesome and I feel full and satisfied for hours. They take awhile to cook, but you can cook several days worth and just add the fruit and cinnamon when you warm up your morning serving.

Down .4 today, not much but I'll take it!!! Considering the stressful work week I had, I'm surpirsed I didn't gain!

Congratulating everyone on sticking with it, regardless of "slipups". We all have them but we can start right back again at any time. Keep up the good work everyone, together, supporting each other, we can succeed. :D

Have an awesome weekend and stay cool! It's supposed to hit triple digits in CA! Yikes!

What type scales are you guys using that can register.5 lbs? I have just the regular dial scale its hard to see exactly how much I've lost at times.

Hi there, I use a digital scale, which gives me my weight of 144.4. Hope that was helpful. :-D

Enjoy your day!

Great job everyone!! Congrats to all who lost and those who keep trying. Do not give up. Only then do you truly become a failure. If you eat off plan, make your very next meal on plan. Dr. McDougall says this way of eating has a steep learning curve. Since there is no one perfect plan, everyone needs to find things in his plans that you can do for life. Make your eating plan a combo of his plans and you will succeed. We can all succeed. Just keep trying!!

Dlee - TY for the good recommendation, I'll look for that at the health food store, apparently because of the fibro I do have problem gums and I do think that adds to this problem I have now. I brush 3 times daily and floss twice daily and the gums still bleed frequently. the plaque builds faster for many fibro folks to - so ay hints on dental remedies are greatly appreciated!!!! Hehe - we all know we are eating right for the best dental health - so it's sure not candy and sweets here  :-D :) :? :-D

Jan: TY so much for all the good advice, I am so sincerely appreciative. I'll PM you in response :)

Thank you for the encouragement Debbie, well said too. I think sometimes we are all just too hard on ourselves, it's a good reminder that we can't be perfect but we can alway strive to do better next time. :)

Have a blessed day!
