In short, I'm a 5'5" 30 year old female about 126 pounds. I would like to be closer to 118-120. I've been trying very hard! :) I exercise about 4 times a week, running 2-3 miles each time and sometimes doing some weights...I also garden/walk, etc. I don't like breakfast and I'm not hungry in the morning, so I usually start eating around 11-12. I'm a snacker. I don't like the feeling of full until dinner time. So, I usually munch on carrots and hot sauce. I'll end up eating about 2 pounds of carrots. Sometimes I will throw in an apple or a cucumber. Then at dinner it's potatoes or a dish from Jeff's dvd. Last night I made his mexican fiesta...but I served the kids and husband's over rice...I had mine over greens and a little rice...about 1/2-3/4 cup total. (Beans...no matter how I make them wreak havoc on my intenstines...and yes I've tried every method out there to make them more digestively friendly. I end up look like I'm 4-5 months pregnant when I really haven't eaten much...maybe 1/3 cup.) Then before bed I usually have banana ice cream. (1 frozen banana + 3/4 cup frozen mixed fruit.) And that's my day. (My favorite dinner is 3-5 small potatoes or 2 medium size with ketchup.) I haven't budged on the scale. I eat super healthy all of the time (except on Christmas and Easter) and it hasn't gotten me anywhere. Any ideas on how I can get the scale to budge? Thanks so much in advance!!!!!

Sounds like you are eating just fine--if anything, I am wondering why you are skimping on the rice--this IS a starch-based diet, after all! I hear you on the beans, too--they are not a requirement, so don't worry about not eating them...

How long have you been trying to lose the weight? I'm 5' 3'. It took me 5 months to go from 132 to 125, and I have been fluctuating from 125 to 120 and back since January. It may just be that your body is fine at 126...so if you want to change, see what you can vary. Try waiting until you are truly hungry to eat, rather than snacking, even on carrots. Or, on the other hand, you could try eating a small breakfast, just like an appointment, and then see how it feels the rest of the day. And just out of curiosity, what is the not "super healthy" stuff that you eat at Christmas and Easter? And is that only the one day each, or is it the season?

What she said. When you only have a small amount to lose, it obviously takes longer and requires a bit more care. When I was 207 eating what a 130 pound person would need to maintain 130 lbs, I lost weight quickly. As I neared my original goal (140) that slowed down. I doubled down on being REALLY careful about no off-plan (i.e., off MWL plan) stuff and slooowwwlly I eventually ended up at around 120, where I've stayed. But if I deviate even a LITTLE I gain a pound or 2 -- b/c it obviously takes less food to maintain a lower weight.

I think you should balance out your meals a bit more, instead of snacking all day and then eating a lot for dinner. It's not NECESSARY to eat breakfast, but you might find that you snack less and end up consuming less overall if you did. Try some oatmeal w/ fruit--it really sticks with you!

It may be really hard for you to lose weight because you are already at what is considered the idea body weight for 5'5"... well 1 pound away. I felt big at 115 when I was 16 and it was my ideal body weight. I felt more self confident at 40 weighing 150. I have to admit watching what Not to Wear helped. When I dressed for my body type and not someone elses, I looked so much more attractive and the confidence came.

Thank you SOOO much for the replies!
Christmas/Easter...it's one meal, followed by a few pieces of chocolate...so NOT a season! :) That's it. 2 meals a year.
I've started eating breakfast as per your recommendations. Just an apple, but you guys are right, it has helped me snack less. I'm 124-125 now. Maybe it's just what I should be.
Thanks so much again for the replies!!! Truly, Truly appreciated!!!!!

Try an even more substantial breakfast--oatmeal with fruit is great. You need starch first thing in the day!
