Has anyone had any problem with being stuck between 2 weights. I keep losing and gaining the same three pounds over the past week and a half. I checked my food diary and the only item I changed on my menu was having some brown rice pasta which had no oil. I don't know if I am eating to much salt. Oh I also had Steel Cut Oatmeal - 2 measured cups this morning for breakfast when I usually eat a Baked Potato. I sweetened the oatmeal with stevia and maple flavoring.
I am having a bit of trouble getting in all my veggies daily but I am faithful with the exercise. I do a mile on the treadmill daily along with 2 miles on the Recumbent Bike every day. Sometimes I will do a mile and a half depending on my energy level, sometimes more. In the past week I increased the walking to 2 miles a couple of times to see if I could start the weight loss again.
I still keep gaining and losing the same 3 lbs. I know I need to tweak something but not sure what to start losing again.
Any thoughts would help.

I'm a newbie here, but I have plenty of background in nutrition, so I'll answer and maybe a vet can give some advice too.
If you're doing MWL, I would stay away from pasta...even if it has no oil. And you mentioned 2 cups of oatmeal? If this was dry measured, I'm guessing it's too much for a meal. This would equal 600 calories...too much for breakfast, I would say. (If it were measured after cooked, with water in it, it sounds better.)
Those veggies are key. GOT to get those in with your starch. Try some of Jeff's recipes...they are loaded with veggies and starches but with the right balances to keep one full without a ton of calories.
Also, I think this is a biggie but doesn't get mentioned as much..."Eat (McDougall way of eating) when you are hungry, and stop when your are satisfied, repeat." For me, I can eat what I think I should eat, but my body always knows best. Start listening to your body more, honor true hunger and I bet you'll start seeing some changes.
Much luck!

I spent the month of July, this year, going between 230 and 233. I NEVER thought I'd get into the 220s. I finally did the first week of August. Just in time for when I started participating in the monthly weigh-ins. I've seen my weight fluctuate as much as two pounds in a single day.

Just keep working on adherence to the plan. Non-starch veggies are really important. Load up on those as much as you can stand.

And yeah, two cups of oats, if dry, is a lot. A serving of oats is 1/2 cup. I don't think there's a problem with the sweetener. Heck, anymore, a little oatmeal with a little brown sugar is my afternoon sweet snack.
