This is my first post, but I have been watching all the post of others for over 2 years, and have been eating this way for about 2 years. I have lately decided that I need to be more serious and stop eating things that are not allowed on this way of eating. I have about 40 more pounds to lose. I started the MWL last week.....haven't lost much as of yet.......wondering would it be best for me to eat oatmeal or puffed rice with rice milk.......I am eating alot of potatoes, veggies.......wondering about the morning meal. Thanks for all the help on this program.

Personally given those choices I'd go with oatmeal (made from whole rolled oats, not instant) and some fruit for sweetening. Puffed rice and nut "milk" are a lot further from the whole/unprocessed ideal.

However if you do go with the puffed rice, be aware that you can get puffed brown rice even at WalMart -- at least some WalMarts -- where you may find it with the discount/bulk cereals because they sell it in a largish bag. That would be a better choice than the puffed polished and sweetened product that most people eat as a breakfast cereal.

Thanks for your response......the puffed rice I was referring to, is the puffed brown rice, in the large bag, nothing added, and with rice milk, homemade, not nut milk. I do think your right, maybe the oatmeal with fruit would be a better choice. Just trying to fine tune some areas of my eating. I think I have to cut down on the beans also.....boo hoo, I just love pinto beans with chow, chow......good Southern eating

My bad, I misread your post with respect to the rice/nut milk. And it sounds like you already found the good puffed rice, yay!
