Good morning! Its so nice to see so many new people posting! I'm finally kicking my processed foods and lossing a little ( i cheated and weighed this morning!) so i'm excited for Friday! My night classes have been canceled lately because of weather conditions so i've had more time to get to yoga and pack home made lunches for work!

Guess I am the first one posting today. I woke up at 5:30 AM to turn up the heater because the house was freezing. It's snowing like the dickens. Brrr.

Anyway, I've lost 1.5 lbs. this week. :-D

It's not as much as last week, but I am thrilled because I am taking the "Eat More Starch Challenge" in Dr. McDougall's December newsletter and still losing weight and never hungry.

Happy Friday!! Weighed myself this morning and i've lost 3 lbs, I now weigh 230 lbs. Started doing 30 mins of aerobics for 3 days so far this week. Feeling a lot more energy! Have a great weekend everyone.

No change for me yet. I started a couple days ago at 229 and that is where I still am. Confession: I ate a half of a non-vegan frosted cookie for my daughter's birthday yesterday. I avoided them all day until last night. Instead of reaching for more, I went to the freezer and dug up some frozen cherries. I wish I would have thought of that sooner.

This morning I weighed 131.6, which is down 2.2 pounds from last week, but only 1.2 pounds from my starting weight, since I gained last week. So, I'm not sure how you count that, but at least it's down.

Hi I am still trying to figure out exactly where I post to weigh in...wanted to tell you a bit about myself. I searched for and bought the McDougal maximum weight loss book after watching forks over knives documentary. I was so inspired after reading all of this information. I don't want to fall into the same health problems as my dear family has (Father has diabetes, mother has problem with bones breaking easily,arthritis and high blood pressure, sister has colon cancer and brother has arthritis). I also have at least 30 pounds to loose. So today I am commiting to this program for my health. I am 5 foot 6 inches and todays curent weigh in: 160.

Goal 130

Welcome, luvmy veggies. Your reasons for starting this program are similar to mine. My husband and I both lost our mothers this year to preventable medical conditions.

My mom had a high blood pressure "controlled" by meds, but that didn't prevent her stroke, which led to dementia and a long slow decline.

My mother in law had diabetes and high cholesterol, also "controlled" by meds that didn't prevent heart problems, blindness and kidney failure. She would have eaten dirt to get her sight back, but it was too late. She spent three years on dialysis.

I'm so sorry for your loss this year...that's a lot to handle! I think loss is much more difficult when you know it could have been prevented! I have (had) type II diabetes (diagnosed when I was only 36 yrs. old) and reversed it with the McDougall lifestyle. When I hear experiences of others- like the one you've lived through- I am ever more grateful to have caught mine in time to change my future and the future of my family! It's so important for me to stop and be grateful and remember so I NEVER go back! Thanks for sharing your story, and great job changing your future as well!
