It has been about 18 days since I took the sugar out of my diet, all of it. It has been a little challenging but all in all, I finally feel free of the cravings that kept doggin' me. I would be doing fine, then all of a sudden out of the blue they would come knocking on my door. The fight would be on, sometimes I won, sometimes I did not win. Looking back over at my food journal, there was not a lot of sugar in my diet, but there must have been enough as I have not had any cravings since I went sugarless. I also have thrown away any artificial sweeteners I had laying around. I am really enjoying being free from those cravings. I expected more of a fight from my body but it seemed to like being sugarfree as well. I have dropped 6.8 lbs in those 18 days as well, as Dr. McDougall says, effortlessly.

Keep up the good work, everyone!
Beginning Weight: 198.8

This Week: 189.0
Been there! Whenever I am sick I just want to hibernate and eat comfort food and not move. Hang in there!

Rosey, I hear you about the batteries on your scale! Twice during these past 2 years I have had to switch scales, and I seemed to gain 4 to 6 pounds each time! The latest was switching to DH's new scale in our closet--but it does weigh in tenths of a pound, rather than 2-tenth increments, which is how I managed to lose .9.
And Jan, great insights on the sweet tooth! I have noticed over the last two Thanksgiving-to-Christmas seasons how a little sweetness can give you a big appetite. It is a mystery to me why that is, but it is so true. and congrats that you have lost so effortlessly!
