I am going to try MWL for May as well. I did really well my first week of this WOE and lost 5 lbs. My goal for May is to lose at least 10 lbs more. We have a wedding to attend in Mid-June, and I bought a new dress. I would LOVE to be less bloated by then, and for the dress to actually be a little big! Lol.

I lost 3.4 pounds this week, but some of it may be water loss, as I wasn't consistent about water the last two days due to some stress.

I believe that I now weigh less than I have weighed since I was married 17 years ago. :-D

Happy Cinco de Mayo day! I slept in last Saturday and didn't report my weigh-in, but I had gained quite a bit. I'm still reporting a gain from the last time I reported in, but I have started taking the weight I gained back off. I started my kids on the regular McDougall plan and at first, they were pretty much eating the same thing as me, but these last few weeks, I've been trying out new recipes, many of which are not MWL, but on the regular plan. I gained about 6 pounds in one week! So. . . .I definitely have to stick with the MWL. Hopefully, by next week, I can report a loss again. AnneC

Just a quick reminder, please report you losses (or gains) on Friday or Saturday mornings. Even if you weigh yourself on another day, just hold on to that loss and report it here on Friday. I want to make sure I include everyone and I might miss you if you report on like Monday, as there are a lot of posts between Mondays and Fridays.

Hey, Debbie that is so cool, but for me I know I am going to have to turn things around and start loosing again, if our CLASS of 2012 is going to smash the records of the prior years. Luckily, we have replaced some slots on our team, (like we lost one guy cuz he lost all his weight already, yay KNUT!!!) and these newer folks are coming in REALLY strong this week!

Looks like if we keep to an average of let's say our 131lbs/mo weight loss, we will top all prior years.

BUT WOULDN"T IT BE COMPLETELY AWESOME TO BE THE UNBEATABLE CLASS OF ALL TIME!!! GO TEAM!!! IT"S SO DOABLE!

WOW!! In past couple days my weight has continued to go down substantially the MWL way of eating works extremely well! I've also noticed that I don't overeat as much and I feel satisfied with the food especially with the addition of grains/potatoes. I'm coming from Dr. Fuhrman style eating and after awhile the cravings get overwhelming and being hungry all the time is no fun! Sure you lose weight but without grains and potatoes it is HARD!

I'm with you! I'm a former ETL'er and I would crave pasta until I would finally give in and eat myself crazy. Since I've added potatoes and grains back to my diet those intense cravings are gone. I'm never hungry, I'm loving the whole grains and I feel healthy and satisfied.

No excuses indeed. I have been remiss! I think problems that I am having are 1) I'm an emotional eater (aren't most of us?) and 2) I keep excusing bad behavior with the fact that my weight is healthy and remains so, so I think what's the harm?

Well guess what? Letting yourself eat a pint of ice cream 2 nights in a row is DEFINITELY NOT HEALTHY. Nor vegan. Grrr, Red, grrr. And man it is a slippery slope, and it's not just about the number on the scale, like we all know. That bad stuff will do terrible things to my innards.

I needed to post this today as a written testimony to my accountability to myself and my new community!

So I'm back and will weigh in this Friday.

YOU GUYS ARE DOING GREAT AND ARE AN INSPIRATION.

redhairrising- I am an emotional eater as well! It can be hard, and the more you give in the harder it is to stop. Just remember not to beat yourself but pick up and carry on with determination! You can do it!
