What a vegan WFPB-diet did to my weight and looks

Postby Borkdude » Wed Mar 05, 2014 9:47 am

For 3 years I have been following a WPFB-diet of which the last two were 100% vegan. I started out on Eat to Live by Joel Fuhrman mid 2011 and a year later I read The Starch Solution by John McDougall. Following a combination of both approaches worked for me. Now I am no longer limiting starches and I'm proud to call myself a starchivore, or even a grain brain.

To share with you, here are some pictures from of my progress.

2009, 2 years before a plant based diet (weight 86 kg):

2011, right before the start of the plant based diet (weight 85 kg):

How I looked in 2012, 1 year on a plant based diet (weight 68 kg):

I hope you will be encouraged by these pics and graph to stay on the WFPB-lifestyle.

Kind regards,

Michiel Borkent from The Netherlands

You look happy and healthy Michiel. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work. Jim should transfer this to the "Testimonials and Success Stories" board. I am also eating a combination of the various PB docs. The starch solution is a great book but so is Fuhrman's ETL book. I have them both. I still have not read either book from cover to cover. Maybe, I will get around to doing it one day...maybe not. I have a ton of books I have purchased over the years that I have never read. I suppose I have good intentions. :D
On 7/8/2013, I decided to change my diet to a "mostly" WFPB diet. I have always been somewhat lean and muscular due to being a lifelong exerciser. Change in diet due to feeling crummy all the time despite a healthy outward appearance. Image

No, the lounge is for posting everything. I just thought it should also probably show up on the other board too so it can serve as an inspiration to others. It looks beautiful where you live. I am in the US.....another cold, rainy, nasty day here. LOL

The 2012 was made near Krakow Poland in the summer. The 2013 picture was made in the old city hall of Stockholm, in the summer.
The Netherlands can be as beautiful, but also very rainy and nasty =).

Thankyou for making us jealous. This post is ideal for me to show people who ask me about results of PB.
Just wondering - is that paved path that you are on with the bicycle, above or below official see level ??
I really HATE my profile picture, but it reminds me to watch my eating. For me, that is a good motivator.

Please post some more of the pre- fatter pics. It is difficult to see much fat, sitting in the chair.
