According to the segment refined sugar is the root of all nutritional evil. Interchanging "sugar" for "animal products" would've been more accurate.

I know sugar is to be avoided, but is it really the cause of all the diseases of affluence?

The man who was convinced that sugar was the root cause of heart disease said something like "We told people to cut out fat, and they did and they substituted sugar for fat". That is just false. The nation's consumption of fat has continued to increase. The nation did not give up fat and substitute sugar. A friend thought I should watch it, and I did, but found it angered me due to misinformation.

my theory is that sugar is the cause for increased brain power and productivity. its pure calories for the brain, go into any high tech office and everyone is pounding candy.
