Since there are so many raves about Jeff's burgers, here's another amazing VB recipe from one of my favorite plant-based cooks. What's fun (and slightly creepy) about these is the amazing resemblance to a burger made with ground beef (except that it's still dark red after cooking because of the beets). Some might be disturbed by the resemblance to meat, some may find it funny. Certainly if you wanted to attract no attention for your strange eating habits you could bring one of these burgers to a barbeque and no one will notice!

These burgers can be cooked without oil in a nonstick pan; they stay together pretty well. I did put the peanut butter in but I imagine that could be omitted, too.

Did I put this in the wrong forum??

The recipe forum may have been a better choice, but this one is better for me, because I probably would not have seen it if you had put it in the recipes. I should keep monitoring those, but I'm too lazy to check frequently.

This is interesting. I think the raves about Jeff's burgers are that they are bean based and can accomodate so many different flavors quickly. At least that's what I find so nice about them. It's like getting a new toy for christmas. This one is pretty much already unwrapped. But it still looks like fun.

Thanks,

Mark

I love PPK and hope to make these sometime. Glad to get positive feedback on them. I love her Caesar Chavez Salad Dressing from Appetite for Reduction. Make it for my husband and occasionally indulge myself. The best ever!
