I recall a previous thread on this same topic, the discuss did guide me to Kate's thread. While I have not attempted the $3/day plan (yet) I would like to see if I could accomplish this with my family. I did write about this topic on my site
Since changing the way I eat, I have experienced a substantial drop in the amount of money I spend on food. I do find myself walking out of stores with an armful of veggies for a very good price, sometimes it surprises me at just how much I bought and I still have cash in my pocket!
Now that I have followed this way of eating for 8 months or so, I could realistically take on this challenge. It would take some advanced planning on my part to create a few menus to follow for a trial period, say 30 days.
