I have been doing decently well on Mcdougall. Been losing weight and feeling good for months on McDougall. However, I have been having challenges along the way as well. While I have been trying to eat until satisfied, perhaps I have been undereating and under-fueling myself @ the same time. I definitely eat until my stomach feels full but maybe I still need to take in more food, even though I almost don't feel that much like it, eh?
Here is the problem. I have had a few bad spells where I feel very, very off and then I need to eat a lot and for a stretch, I don't drop weight. Also, I have been sometimes doing short bursts of higher intensity cardio that may require I eat more than I do even though I don't often feel much like I am undereating.

The questions are:
-Even though I don't feel like I am starving, at all, is it possible I am still undereating since I get a weird "off" feeling in my brain until I eat quite a bit more?
-To assist weight loss better, should I maybe only do lower intensity cardio instead of short burst of high intensity in order not to require more food to fuel me and reduce my chances of some kind of depletion effect?
-Should I actually eat more calorie dense carbs like sweet fruit to up my calories a little more to avoid feeling off?

The last few days I've felt better and it might be because I've been almost pushing myself to eat more starches and sweet fruit, even beyond my comfort zones at times, so, maybe that's what I need to keep doing. My block is that I still want to drop 10 lbs and I'm nervous I will block it with eating too much.
thanks

i believe the rule of thumb is eat a minimum 10 times your weight # in calories per day to avoid putting your body into starvation mode. So if you weigh 150lbs you need 1500 calories. Its not a hard and fast rule by any means, but if you are worried about starving yourself see how you measure up to it and see if meeting that rule of thumb helps you feel better.

Just by juggling the calorie density of your meals you will get where you want to be. It is quite possible to be eating too low and average calorie density and not be getting enough fuel. The high intensity intervals is your best bet for calorie burning, a good 20-30 minutes will rev your metabolism for a day and 1/2!
