Interesting work with rats...how long before we see people using this?

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 204050.htm

I wonder about this statement though:

"The therapy, furthermore, produced an appreciable improvement in the animals' health, delaying the onset of age-‐related diseases -- like osteoporosis and insulin resistance"

And here I thought osteoporosis and insulin resistance were simply lifestyle/diet related :unibrow:

oh well, we will always be looking for that magic bullet when it already is right in front of our nose (or rather mouth)...

Well, if we can mutate ourselves to be resistant to a bad diet...I have to say, that'd be so much easier than just eating well, lol! It would also be especially helpful in times of poor resources or in impoverished countries...which of course won't have any access to serious gene therapy procedures, but you know...
