I was interested in this topic as I eat Sesame Corn Thins when in England. They do not contain any added oil. Check the website for the ingredients. I believe this is the only variety that is McDougall friendly.

Yes, I just checked on the website and the Sesame do not contain added oil. That's the one we eat so I'm glad to see that and at least there is still one option.

Can we trust them? The Flax corn thins don't list oil on the package only on their website...

The only reason I can think of why the website would be different is if the formulation was changing and the packaging and product are a bit older. I have never seen ingredients left off of packaging. If in doubt we can always write the company and ask for an explanation. I tend to trust the ingredient list on packaging unless given reason to suspect them. Clearly if they put oil in and don't want anyone to know they would leave it off both lists.

Sorry for the confusion. Original Corn Thins and Flax & Soy Corn Thins are different formulations in the US compared to the rest of the world, as they are Organic. Our website is a bit ancient, so it is not designed to carry information for different formulations. I will look at what can be done with our website so we can carry more information, so information is relevant for all countries. US Organic Flax & Soy Corn Thins do not have oil added, as stated on the packaging, but there is oil naturally occurring in the ingredients, particularly the Flaxseed. Sesame Organic Corn Thins are the same formulation in all countries and do not have any added oil. Organic Original Corn Thins do have a small amount of organic sunflower oil added.

Nothing like getting the information right from the horses mouth! Not sure how you found out about us but thanks for responding.

A guy tells his doctor, "Doc, it hurts when I do this ..."
The doctor says, "Then don't do that."

I want to try the no oil added products. I think it is awesome that Corn Thins posted. I have been snacking on pretzel thins.

Where are these available in the US? Any where in North Carolina? Can we order and get them shipped?

This thread is eerie. Why would anyone sneak oil in something? Do you see there are no calories from fat?

Where can these be bought? I haven't seen them in my grocery. Are they only available in health food stores?

Why not make your own corn chips? Just cut up some corn tortillas and microwave. Another great snack that is easy to make and take with you is popcorn. Just pop in a plain paper bag in the microwave. You can also microwave your own potato chips.

Corn Thins can be a little hard to find as we are generally not in the very large supermarkets (ie Walmart), although we are continuing to try and get into as many stores as possible. Natural Food stores and supermarkets with large natural food and organic product ranges are much more likely to stock our range of Corn & Rice Thins. We do not sell direct to stores, but via distributors, so do not always know where Corn Thins are sold, although most local health food stores, or supermarkets can order them in via their distributors. We do however maintain a store listing on our website which is as accurate as we can best maintain, gathered from information provided by customers and our distributors. http://www.cornthins.com/interUSA.aspx.
Where to buy suggestions:

Larger chains such as Stop & Shop, Wakefern, Wegmans, Whole Foods Markets, Shaw's

Smaller chains such as Dierbergs, Earth Fare, Yokes.

Any of these stores can order in Flax & Soy Corn Thins, even if they do not have that particular variant in store. If you would like us to try and do a more detailed search you can go to our "contact us" http://www.cornthins.com/contContact.aspx and give as a bit more detail on where you shop, as some of our distributors give us both store and variant sold information.

Alternatively, Flax & Soy Corn Thins can be bought on-line via http://www.wholeandnatural.com/servlet/Categories, or http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss? ... hins&ajr=1

Hope this helps a bit!

Thanks. My question is why put oil in the other varieties? If you can make one without oil, why not make them all without oil?

You'd have some steady customers here if they were all oil free.

Agree and agree. I have a hard time finding the sesame ones, which are the ones without oil. I bet the amount of oil used in the recipe is so small that it could easily be left out.
