It's been 6 months as of today I started this change. To date I could not be happier with the results so far. Even though all the harsh criticism from co-workers and friends, I believe my health to be more important than their words. I have found a wonderful support group on these discussion forums and have learned many things about nutrition and diet I never did know. Thanks to all along the way. You can read my 6 month review.

great news! and the 6 month report was interesting. I hope your knee gets well! (if you have any olive oil resting in the back of a dark closet, rub some on your knee.)

Congrats on your success, stoumi!

I just read your blog and having just started the 12 Day this past Monday, 4-23, your story has provided me inspiration! Very well written, so thank you for sharing.

I'm also on a statin and would just love to get off of it. Thanks for giving me hope that I can do it, too.

What will the olive oil do?

Thanks all.

@shell, olive oil has anti-inflammatory properties, much like ibuprofen. I have been using another topical oil called trauma oil on my other knee.

@scott, keep at it. I won't say I was skeptical when I first started, buying into this way of eating from the start. It has been great and I am very happy with the progress I have made. All the inspiration you need can be found on this discussion board.

@mountain, yes I am hoping my knee will be okay. I get the MRI results tomorrow. This competition is the sort of goal I would love to achieve.

@giddyupgin, tougher than meat, cheese or anything else I have chosen not to eat, the beer has been difficult. Hopefully reducing the amount is the answer. If not then I will make further changes.

I just appreciate all the positive comments and information I continue to learn from many of the people on this discussion board. It's great to see so many successful stories of individuals essentially turning their life (health) around and prospering! It's great encouraging and read stories/comments of other individuals who face similar roadblocks on their way to health! This has been the best change in my life to date!

outstanding report!!! really enjoyed reading it and am sure it will really help many others adopt this WOL. I think when your knee is better (try a knee strap you can get various kinds from running stores, I use a simple PT band to hold my patella in place / also vegan glucosamine is pretty cheap and seems to help me) but knee better and cardio up you'll use up those triglycerides as fuel. Enjoy the beer, I have one or two a week, but will sometimes go months w/o one and sometimes I drink 4 in one night (like a bday)
