Thanks all... At 193... 2 lbs less than the 195 I was shooting for. Probably stay where I'm at for a spell before deciding if I want to lose a few more and go to 185 or stay around 190. Already pretty lean and being 190 has certain advantages in doing ranch work.

Great program, much easier and simpler than I had imagined. Even better is that my wife continues to lose 3 lbs a week and only has a bit more to go... more of an accomplishment for her as she is a Type 1 diabetic and I seem to drop weight easily...

Even better is the number of people requesting to watch my copy of Forks Over Knives or read books and articles by Dr. Mcdougall, Esselstyn, et al...

I had been an ethical vegan at heart for quite some time, and was well aware of the health benefits of going vegan sans added oils and fats for almost as long. Advised patients and clients to drop or reduce meat, dairy, and oils and fats for years before I did. Took the perfect storm of ethical and health oriented veganism to hit me upside the head... that... and seeing my picture on the monitor while in line at the of the local credit union to shock me into just how big I had become. My weight gain was deceptive in that I gained it all over and never had a belly and was still quite active and "healthy". Denial isn't just a river in Egypt...

Looking forward to eating more starches and reducing my work outs a bit... though they've become somewhat addictive... Be well everyone...

Happy Birthday Knut and Congrats on meeting your goal - well what's 2 measly pounds. The way you loose it will probably drop off by the end of the day anyway ;-)

How great your wife is alleviating some health issues too and that this is now for you as much about ethical eating as health. I feel that way too - especially where the high impacts of meat/dairy production on global warming are concerned. I was always there about animal compassion, just hadn't completely connected the dots on that until I started the reading and watching all the movies!

Have a happy healthy next year and many more to come --Michelle
