I am appalled at this. This is paradigmatic of what Dr. McDougall and Dr. Esselstyn say about doctors advising surgeries and certain treatments.

Today you have to be careful anytime a medical professional is trying to get you to have a procedure or even take some meds. What is their motive? Is it concern for your health and a sincere desire to see you get well? Or is it something else? Didn't there used to be laws restricting doctors from even advertising much less inducing people to have procedures?

This reminds me of the letters that were sent out to our new mothers a few months after birth to advertise plastic surgery, like tummy tucks. Just when the mom's were feeling still a bit frumpy from having had a baby and all, this did not make a hit. Fortunately our section head immediately put a stop to it. A profit center always looking for ways to make profit.
