Interesting you bring this up as this morning I got a questionaire from one of the medical newsletters I subscribe to. They think I am a physician so they asked me to participate in a question and answer poll to determine my experience with statins. Several of the questions revolved around memory loss. Also there were questions about muscle damage. These are two areas of concern around statins these days. I have reason to believe I have suffered permanent muscle damage in one leg due to taking Simastatin. I am greatly relieved to be off all statins and I urge everyone to use diet and lifestyle to control cholesterol levels rather than to rely on medications. It's my experience in discussing statins with literally hundreds of people using them that the incidence of serious side effects is highly under reported. Almost everyone I discuss this with has had issues with them. Why the reports of serious side effects published is so low I cannot explain. I think the doctors rarely turn in reports from patients. f1jim
