Glad to hear you got HSH at your local WFM. Our's has signs up, but the dishes still are laden with salt and oil.

As an aside, I noticed that for month's now there are none of Dr. McDougall, Dr. Fuhrman, the two Esselstyn's, or Dr. Barnard's books left. I'm hoping they sold out and haven't replenished yet.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can get this excited about HSH at Whole Foods :D

buyer beware with the WF HSH! It all depends on who is making it at the individual Whole Foods that day if it'll have oil in it or not (not to mention cheese/fish/chicken/bison/etc)

The only thing I found were the oil free dressings, but you have to check ingredients carefully. I checked their recipes online and they include meat, oils and nuts. Next week they are having a HSH dinner and I asked if there would be anything without those products and I haven't heard back. The lady in charge of the program said it's based on McDougall and others but I'm starting to wonder. I was excited to have some local support but now I'm skeptical.

Well, the ingredients are listed--they have to stick to THOSE don't they??

I no longer trust that they include every ingredient at my WFMN. Usually it's just a careless error. Like the time I read the ingredients on a VEGAN cabbage dish. No mention of any sweetener in there. But I realized there most definitely was. It ended up being honey. My main complaint was suppose someone was vegan, or how bout allergic to honey? They told me when a dish is made at corporate, it's correct. If it's made at that particular store, it may not be.

I've ended up purchasing something from the counter that had no mention of cheese in it. The clerk told me it didn't. But it did! Same with something on the hot bar. They had put up the wrong sign!

This could probably be a blessing in disguise for me.....I no longer purchase as much prepared food as I did in the past. :)

Well, it was pretty obvious that there were no animal products or oil in what I ordered. Nothing's perfect--every time one eats out one takes a risk. IMO this is LESS risky than most places (at least in my area).

Yes, you do have to beware with the Health Starts Here foods. I got the tabouleh wrap once and it was very tasty. I tried to get it again, but they were out of the prewrapped sandwiches and made it at the counter. They used regular hummus with olive oil (she showed me the tub she was using). I couldn't tell about the tabouleh. It wasn't "oily", but the bag she brought out to use was not labeled HSH.

It's still a good concept, and hopefully it will get better/more reliable. But, the staff is generally clueless about the HSH program even when there are signs right in front of them inviting customers to ask them questions about it.

It's definitely better and safer to prepare your foods at home as much as possible.
Speaking of tabbouleh, I am going to try the recipe from the Starch Solution this weekend. I have parsley and mint in my garden that's just begging to be used!
