Here is a 71-part series that deals with some paleo and low-carb myths. It is quite thorough, and has several hours of material. From the series one can find many familiar topics, it is quite epic. Nice Job!

Sorry if this has been already posted.

PrimitiveNutrition

I have watched just a few episodes, but so far it has been very informative.

The videos look interesting, but who is PrimitiveNutrition?

I don't know who the author is. Based on first video, he does think that his identity is not relevant.

Of course it matters! Plus, he bases many of his criticisms largely on the backgrounds and credentials of others -- for example Denise Mingher is too young, too undereducated, etc. to be taken seriously. His hypocrisy is discrediting.

Sure there are some not-so-good arguments, but most of his points deal with the subject, not the speaker or writer. Later he tries to tell why Denise Minger is not qualified to interpret the numbers. The big picture is somewhat missing in many cases.

Anyway, I have found many interesting points about some of the studies that low-carb and paleo movement use. Same thing with the diets of some hunter-gatherers. All of it is not gold, but there are lots of good points that one can study more if she or he wishes.

This is a fantastic video series.

Thank you so much for linking to it.

These alternative China studies are quite interesting:

Primitive Nutrition 64: China Studies, Part III

Primitive Nutrition 65: China Studies, Part IV

Funny how these can tell to some people, that vegetables are not that good for you.

My already low appreciation towards some writers has been sinking steadily while watching.

Dr. McDougall is mentioned on Primitive Nutrition 42 in which McDougall's newsletter article about Mummy's high fat diets is mentioned.

I noticed that too. Didn't mean to say that I don't appreciate McDougall anymore.

Parts 40 and 41 have interesting info about the studies that are used by people who are claiming that low cholesterol kills. Already seriously ill people on medication won't necessary tell us that lowering cholesterol with diet and changes in lifestyle is not healthy. Seems like there is some deliberate misleading going on. Not so nice, when you think that lives are at stake...

I especially enjoyed the video series in which China's diet was discussed. Very interesting.

I watched all 71 of those videos and it was well worth the time. Very educational.

Few writings about this series.

Don Matesz:

Primitive Nutrition Critique of Paleo Diet Part 1

Primitive Nutrition Critique of Paleo Diet Conceptual Framework, Part 2

It seems that Don's "Farewell to Paleo" thing is going strong. The second part has some interesting observations about Cordain and Campbell.

The Humane Hominid:

A Definitive Critique Of The Paleo Diet

It's good to see that this excellent and informative video series is getting attention.

For too long people like Denise Minger, Chris Masterjohn, Michael Eades and Uffe Ravnskov have been sitting in the peanut gallery taking pot shots at people are actually qualified in the field of nutrition.

Don Matesz's blog is very interesting. He was on the Paleo diet for many years. But he began having health problems and is now mostly, though not entirely, plant based.

Yeah. I started following Don's Primal Wisdom blog around the time of his 'farewell to "paleo"' post. I've also put the new blog he and his wife started in my faves. http://www.discoveringtao.blogspot.com/

Even though the person who created this 71 part video series has been criticized for keeping his identity unknown, I think it makes sense for him to do so.

If he had revealed that, for example, he words at the National Institutes of Health, the critics would have just shrugged and said, "Figures that you would think this way. You are part of the medical establishment."

If people think that internet bloggers like Denise Minger and Chris Masterjohn understand nutrition and epidemiology better than do Dr. T. Colin Campbell and Dr. McDougall, no number of credentials are going to change that.
