Hello all

Cuz Nicki and I are reporting from Sunny Sydney

Sydney has been experiencing heavy rains and dreadful weather causing trees to fall and damage to properties - however no lives have been lost which is a God send. Cuz Nicki and I have survived this weather although today we went walking even in the rain as either Cuz Nicki went for a walk or he was going to go stir crazy and I was going to hit the bottle at 7am
Cuz Nicki got the tick of approval from our last visit with the vets who said that he thought Cuz Nicki may improve slightly but not much more improvement, however, the lilkelihood is that he wouldn't have any more improvement if he had had the operation, and he would have had 3 month recovery time plus being in plaster. Cuz Nicki and I are grateful to the fact that we have dealt with this operation free.
I have just been sent an email with an e-book attached - by Sarah Wilson (who use to be a publisher with one of our magazines here in Aussie land). About 7 months ago she become totally sugar free - she sights sugar as being the evil food. In her 40+ page e-book, she attacks both refined sugars (no need for brain infusion required to get that refined sugars are not so good) but also what I would have considered 'good' sugars - such as sugars found naturally in fruit. However, she states that one has to detox from all sugars and then go back on slowly on the good sugars (fruit). She reports that the nutrients can be found by eating a wide variety of veggies (yep agree with that one). Anyway, am reading the book as I start to think about 'retiring' from alcohol consumption for a while. My body has become very sensitive to different foods. Although diary free - there are times when I may have food that has some dairy in it - such as sauces in pasta's etc. But I am no reacting to this. Anyway, I have become more tired the following mornings even if I have one/two glass max of wine. So am thinking more about stopping wine consumption which has lots of sugar and may actually see some weight loss - not bad outcome if this occurs.
Two weeks ago I missed doing yoga (which I have done twice) - am booked in to do yoga every Sunday as my Pilates Teacher has encouraged me to do Yoga to assist with my posture as well as doing the pilates. Anyway, two weeks ago missed yoga as did this last week due to having one/two glasses of wine with dinner. That is the only difference between waking up the following morning feeling yukkie compared to other days - the Saturday evening on both those occasions I had wine. So have been thinking for a while that my body is becoming more sensitive to different foods - maybe due to being quite cleansed. Anyway, I don't want to wake up feeling sluggish and the only common demoninator is the wine I had.
So well, I can only try - if i break it - so be - but need to give it a try.
Anyway, I found her e-book quite interesting because she goes on about whole foods (although she is a meat and dairy eater), she takes about eating wholefoods and staying right away from processed foods and additives. So will report on how I feel.
The only issue I have is that she talks about the fact that you will have some mood swings and feel slightly crappy as you detox. Sarah is obviously not going through menopause as I am constantly having mood swings and up to today was having sugar (ie fruit) in my diet
Anyway, although it hasn't rained for most of the day today - since arriving at work - it has started to pour down again - just as we have about an hour or so to go. May have to walk Nicki in the rain again with his beauiful Red Raincoat. Little Nicki Ridinghood.
Cheers - Jan and Cuz Nicki
