Its good to know I'm not alone. Everyone around me tends to be going to lots of parties every w/end - where as Nicki and I are at home, on the lounge watching either really trashy films, or Law and Order (where I can usually say the lines off by heart - an indication that I truly need to get out  ) or i force Nicki to watch shows from the 70's and 80's like 21 Jump Street (which follows Law and Order) or the Brady Bunch/Partridge Family. See I am a dag!!!!!
I think Cuz Nicki prefers me to be a dag - he likes having the company and also the belly rubs. He kind of doesn't really like the singing after a few wines while listening to records (should I dare say it) like the Carpenters (in reality they sold millions yet no-one ever admits to having an album - hmmmm).
Kittyadventures - Enjoy the party and cookie exchange (am going home to tell Nicki about this - think he might want to do a slightly different version of 'bone exchange').

:D That would be quite the sight - to see the dogs exchange bones! Sorry about your rain and roof Jan - glad you are comforting yourself!

Thanks Melinda. Yep can see your point on dogs exchanging bones - yep knowing Nicki - probably would not turn out to be a good thing - could end up in dogs exchanging harsh barks
However, can't give Nicki a bone right now as it is likely to wash away given that the garden is basically like a pool at the moment. But am glad the rain has gone. And, the roof should be fixed soon.
It was funny watching Cuz Nicki looking at the wall watching the rain run down it - its like his little brain was going 'you know that's not how it should be'.

So o.k. well had a very party filled four days. Thursday drinks and nibbles; Friday drinks, Saturday lunch - birthday bash and Saturday night big 1950's party - had so much fun. In between socialising like no tomorrow Cuz Nicki and I went walking. However, he was somewhat unimpressed that I was out and about so much. but, as I explained to him, as of now back to being as boring as batshit
Well survived today. Was to be cross examined on a case before me involving a convicted child sex offender who wants to work with children. Didn't eat due to feeling like I would puke due to knowing that I was going to be cross examined because I had located the victim and had spoken to the victim (who - no brainer - is fearful of the person). Anyway, new evidence came about at 4am this morning which requries further investigation and therefore I was not cross examined today - will be in March 2012. So once I got out of court got some fruit and inhaled 2 bananas on way back to work. See Cuz Nicki and I really are related. We inhale which is a family tradition
Am going to go to sleep early tonight as didn't sleep last night - cross examination is very scary no matter how much experience one has in court. Anyway, Cuz Nicki will be happy that things will settle for the time being - as he was kept awake last night with my tossing and turning. I told him it was payback for him taking up most of the bed and lounge every day/night  A not impressed Cuz Nicki just stared at me and demanded extra food. GIVEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who rules in my home - not me
Have wonderful week everyone. PS Kittyadventures am currently cooking Ratatooee (?spelling) which is basically frying some onions - putting in some tomato and garlic pasta sauce, adding in eggplant, tomotoes, zucchini, peppers, mushrooms and eating as much as one wants. Am definetely Martha F. Stewart in the kitchen. Apparently most people already knew how bleeding easy it is to make - whereas I was in shock

Am feeling like Martha Stewart - had rattatoooweee (??? spelling - really am having non ability to spell days more regularly) for lunch and my colleagues all commented on how great it smells. Yep - said bloody easy - even Cuz Nicki could cook this one up - veggies and potatoes - basically. And so comforting.
Even in the height of summer (we are in Summer) our weather has changed and we are wearing jumpers (have been since yesterday). So comforting food is great.
Cuz Nicki (my cooking assistant) and myself are cooking some soup tongiht. Am going to do Kale and pumpkin soup. One of Cuz Nicki's favourites.
Cheers - Jan and Cuz Nicki (Vegan - well sort of - he is a dog - SPUNK DOG).
Also check this out - two dogs in a restaurant - very well done

well it has been one of those weeks. Yesterday I came back from pilates early in the a.m. to find that Cuz Nicki had got into and eaten a large bag of chocolate bullets (chocolate/licorice lollies) that I had stashed for the kids. Chocolate can be fatal with dogs. So I rushed Cuz Nicki to the vets and they induced vomiting, gave more medication and induced more vomiting. I still got to work on time although was frazzled. However for the last 8 months or so, a colleague (who separated a while ago from her husband, whom my ex knows ) has been using tactics such as intentionally being non-communicative and withdrawing interaction. It has been obvious that she is chatty to all the others and then totally stops chatting if I try to join in. I know it is school yard behaviour but it hurts. So last night I drank a few red wine and cuddled Cuz Nicki and cried all night. Haven't really slept. Yesterday she was particular cruel so I think with that and Nicki having to be rushed to the vets - emotionally I was just over it. So I have to admit today I don't look like angelina joli - my eyes are swollen and I look tired. I don't cope well with such behaviour and I don't see the necessity. I had assured her early on that anything said between us (given that even before her separation nearly 11 months ago that they were having problems) would stay with us. We both agreed not to speak to our partners about anything said in the workplace. However, in the last number of months, the behaviour has been to exclude me from discussions - which basically hurts. I think I'm more sensitive due to Cuz Nicki and the vets yesterday morning and the fact that I haven't really slept. But why are people so mean? There is no need for it.
Anyway the good news is that Cuz Nicki is o.k. However I did tell him that yesterday our visit to our vet costed us $181.50 and that this was his Christmas present. No roast lamb. Of course when he looks at me with those eyes we all know that I'm roasting a lamb for him on christmas day. I'll be having salad and potatoes and cooking (most likely in our December summer in heat) roast lamb - with of coruse liver treats. My mouth does not water at roast lamb (or any meat product). Cuz Nicki better get me George Clooney for Christmas given that I'm cooking for him.
Love to all Jan and Cuz Nicki

Thanks for that Kittyadventures. Actually last night just cuddled Nicki. I think he was relieved that I wasn't crying. He is such a cute boy. However, I have told him he needs to work off the $181.50 (vets bill) He is laying on the lounge at home thinking of what career he should venture into in order to pay me back the money  May be on the lounge for quite some time.

Yes, I love Ratatoowe - its so easy. I wish someone had told me years ago about how easy this dish is. I feel like Nigella in the ktichen when I've made it  However Nicki is not allowed any :crybaby: as it has tomato and onion in it.

Have been having comfort food the last few nights. Nothing too bad. Tonight am also going to have comfort food. Am going to buy some sweet potatoe and (usual) potato on way home and cutting them up into bits and oven baking them - Home made chips while watching Lipstick Jungle. Yep - another American show that I have been trapped into watching. Love it. Stars Brooke Shields and Andrew McCarthy (from Pretty in Pink and Breakfast Club) and it is my favourite TV show at the moment. So tonight Cuz Nicki will be having baked chicken and salmon with veggies while I'm having sweet and white potato oven baked chips. I think deep down he is also addicted to Lipstick Jungle. He just looks like he has gone to sleep on the lounge

Have great w/end. Love to all.
Cheers - Jan and Cuz Nicki (chocolate stealing dog)

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL LOVE FROM CUZ NICKI AND JAN. :D I won't be back on line until 17 January 2012 as we are closing down (as a government department) :crybaby: (am being sarcastic using the crybaby sign for me not being at work) and I'm taking an extra couple of days. So to all, have a safe and happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Cuz Nicki and I are planning to do lots of walks in the park (should the weather in Sydney improve) and watching lots of Christmas type films, like It's a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart. Cuz Nicki is looking forward to having Lamb Cultets (bones removed) for Christmas lunch. His mouth is watering in anticipation. To my wonderful cyber mate Kittyadventures - hope you and your furies have a fabulous Christmas filled with lots of hugs and lots of treats.
See you lots in 2012 - MERRY CHRISTMAS

LOVE JAN AND CUZ NICKI (The chocolate pinching dog)

:( Sorry your co worker is being such an immature jerk! I would find it quite hurtful also. Work would be a lot easier sometimes if it wasn't for the workplace!

Hi Melinda,
Yes I agree - I don't understand why people have to be nasty - to me it is school yard bullying and unnecessary. I'm really looking forward to the break. Just want to spend time with cuz Nicki - as he and his fury mates don't act like this - they just love you for you.

Can't promise Kittyadventures that Cuz Nicki and I won't be glued to watching Australia and America's Next Top Model or law and Order - orginal, SVU, UK and Criminal Intent. We are I must confess boring as batsh*t Aussies. Cheers - Jan.
